What is florfenicol ?
Flufenicol is a veterinary drug, an antibiotic, and its function is to treat respiratory diseases and their associated fever. If an animal needs flufenicol, it should be applied under the guidance of a professional veterinarian. Flufenicol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic approved for use in cattle, pigs, and fish, but may also be suitable for other animals such as dogs and cats. It has antibacterial activity against a variety of bacteria and inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins by binding to ribosomes. It can be used to treat respiratory diseases (BRD) caused by Pasteurella hemolyticus, Pasteurella multocida, Histotophil somatoides and mycoplasma bovis in beef cattle and non-lactating cows (slaughtered calves), and to control fever associated with respiratory diseases. Flufenicol can be applied to animals under the guidance of a professional doctor, but sometimes some adverse reactions can occur, including decreased appetite, reduced drinking water or diarrhea injection site reactions that affect the appearance. At the same time, it should be noted that this drug should not be used in breeding animals because the reproductive ability, pregnancy and lactation of animals have not been detected.
The Introductction of Florfenicol:
Florfenicol is a commonly used veterinary antibiotic with a wide antibacterial spectrum, strong antibacterial activity and low minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). Its antibacterial effect is 15-20 times that of chloramphenl and foxamicol. 60 minutes after feed administration, the drug concentration in the tissue can reach the peak, which can quickly control the disease. No potential aplastic anemia, suitable for large-scale farm use, mainly for the treatment of cattle respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurelli and Haemophilus. It has a good effect on bovine foot rot disease caused by fusobacterium. Also used for sensitive bacteria caused by swine, chicken infectious diseases and fish bacterial diseases.
Antibiotic drugs, by inhibiting the activity of peptiacyltransferase, produce a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity, including a variety of gram-positive, negative bacteria and mycoplasma, etc.Sensitive bacteria include haemophilus influenzae of cattle and pigs, Shigella dysentery, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, pneumococcus, influenzae, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, chlamydia, Leptospira, Rickettsiae, etc. This product diffuses into the bacterial cell through the lipid solubility, mainly ACTS on the 50s subunit of the bacterial 70s ribosome, inhibits the transpeptidase, hinders the growth of the peptidase, inhibits the formation of the peptide chain, thus preventing the synthesis of protein and achieving the antibacterial purpose. This product has wide antibacterial spectrum, and has strong effect on gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma. The oral absorption of this product is rapid, widely distributed, long half-life, high blood drug concentration, long blood drug maintenance time.
Flufenicol is a drug used in the treatment of epilepsy, with anticholine, antihistamine, antiserotonin, ganglioside and other effects. Flufenicol is an anticholinesterase drug that blocks calcium ion channels in the presynaptic membrane and neuromuscular innervation of the postganglionic cholinergic nerve, and is used to treat various seizures, such as absence seizures, myoclonic seizures, and tonic seizures. Flufenicol can be used in adults and children to treat myoclonus, absence seizures, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. In addition, flufenicol has antihistamine effects that can relieve itching and hives caused by allergic reactions. It also has the effect of ganglioside, which can promote the growth and repair of nerve cells, and has a certain improvement in cognitive function. However, there may also be a series of side effects during the use of flufenicol, such as headache, insomnia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation, etc. It should be noted that flufenicol should not be used in patients with severe liver and kidney dysfunction, as it may cause liver and kidney dysfunction to worsen. For pregnant women, children and the elderly, special attention needs to be paid to the safety and efficacy of drug use.
The Application & Function of Florfenicol:
1, to pig pleurisy, streptococcus, attach red filaments, day 2, diarrhea effects.
2, to chickens of contagion rhinitis, pig, ox lung phytophthora duck respiratory infection, inflammation, RuXianYan serous disease such as effects.
3, the aquatic product categories: for bacterial enteritis sepsis, disease, red skin disease, vibrio disease, perpendicular scale disease, class nodules disease, Enoch concurrent salmonellosis, scabies disease, eel red eosinophilic disease and bullfrogs bacterial dysentery effects.
Florfenicol 98% is white crystall powder, odourless, taste bitter. This product in DMF dissolve easily in the dissolved in methanol in slightly soluble in glacial acetic acid in water or chloroform micro dissolve.Suitable for various kinds of various infections caused by sensitive bacteria.
Florfenicol, a commonly used veterinary antibiotic, is currently indicated for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease, and also used in aquaculture for the control of enteric septicemia in catfish.
Flufenicol tightly binds to the 50S subunit on the bacterial ribosome, hinders the transpeptide reaction of the peptide acyltransferase, and thereby inhibits the extension of the peptide chain; at the same time, it selectively acts on the 70S ribosomes that make up the bacterial cell Receptors, alter and interfere with the function of peptidyltransferase, thereby double-interfering with the synthesis of bacterial proteins. Antibiotics, which have a broad spectrum of antibacterial effects by inhibiting the activity of peptide acyltransferases, have a broad antibacterial spectrum, including a variety of Gram-positive and negative bacteria and mycoplasma. Sensitive bacteria include Haemophilus bovine, porcine swine, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella, E. coli, pneumococcus, influenzae, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, Chlamydia, Leptospira, Rickettsia, etc.
