The Introductction of Enramycin
Enramycin is produced by fermentation of actinomycetes (Streptomyces fungicidicus), and the main components are Enramycin A and B, applied in their hydrochloride form.
Enramycin is white or slightly yellowish-white powder (the crude product is gray or gray-brown powder with peculiar odor). 234~238℃ decomposition, soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, slightly soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, insoluble in aone.
Enramycin has strong activity against Gram-positive bacteria, especially against the harmful Clostridium difficile (Clostridium) in the intestine with strong inhibition. It is not easy to produce resistance after long-term use, because it changes the bacterial group in the intestinal tract, so it has good effect on the utilization of nutrients in the feed, which can promote the weight gain of pigs and chickens and improve the feed conversion rate.
Enramycin hydrochloride has excellent stability to heat, light and moisture. Enramycin has high stability in feed, little degradation in long term storage at room temperature, also very stable in the process of making pellets, and little decrease in potency after mixing with feed in long term storage at room temperature. Enramycin is not degraded in the intestinal tract and can maintain its original antibacterial activity.
The Application & Function of Enramycin
Advantage of Enramycin
1. Enramycin, when added in trace amounts to feeds, can provide good growth promotion and significantly increase feed remuneration.
2. Enramycin shows good antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria both in aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Enramycin has a strong effect on Clostridium perfringens, which is the main cause of growth inhibition and necrotizing enteritis in pigs and chickens.
3. Enramycin is not yet cross-resistant.
4. Enramycin develops resistance very slowly and Clostridium perfringens resistant to enramycin has not been isolated.
5. Because Enramycin is not absorbed in the intestinal tract, there is no need to worry about drug residues and there is no withdrawal period.
6. Enramycin has stable performance within the feed and remains active even during processing of pellets.
7) Enramycin can reduce the situation of chickens excreting scanty feces.
8. Enramycin can inhibit ammonia-producing microorganisms, thus reducing ammonia concentration in the intestines and blood of pigs and chickens, and thus reducing ammonia concentration in the barn.
9. Enramycin reduces the clinical signs of coccidiosis, probably due to the extremely strong inhibitory effect of enramycin on secondary infecting anaerobic bacteria.
Effect on chickens
Enramycin is effective in promoting growth and improving feed remuneration for both broilers and laying hens.
Effectiveness in preventing watery stool
(1) Chickens may have watery stools due to the disturbance of intestinal flora. Enramycin mainly acts on the intestinal flora, which can improve the bad condition of watery stool.
(2) Enramycin can enhance the anticoccidial activity of anticoccidial drugs or reduce the occurrence of coccidiosis.
Efficacy on pigs
Enramycin mixing has the effect of promoting growth and improving feed remuneration for both piglets and finishing pigs.
According to the results of several tests, the recommended dose for pigs is 2.5-10ppm.
Prevention of dysentery. Adding Enramycin to piglet opening feed can not only promote growth and improve feed remuneration. It can also reduce the occurrence of dysentery in piglets.
Aquatic application effect
Adding 2,6,8ppm Enramycin to the bait can significantly increase the daily weight gain of fish and reduce the bait coefficient.
