4-Methoxyphenol is a chemical that appears as a white flake or waxy crystal. The molecular formula is C7H8O2. It can be used as polymerization inhibitor, UV inhibitor, dye intermediate and antioxidant BHA (3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole) for the synthesis of food oils and cosmetics. It is an important intermediate of fine chemical products such as medicine, spices and pesticides.
Function:
1.Used as livestock feed additive, animal feed as an additive to regulate iodine deficiency.
2.Analytical reagents, also used as complexing agent, masking agent, bacterial inhibitors, etc.
3.Used as wheat flour treatment agent, dough modification agent, salt iodization agent. FDA (§184.1635, 2000) specifies that the maximum limit for bread is 0.0075% (based on the amount of wheat flour). Chinese regulations can be used for solid drinks, limited 0.26 ~ 0.4mg/kg. Iodized salt or drug can be used to prevent local thyroid disease.
