The Introductction of Moxidectin
Moxidectin is a macrocyclic lactone and semi-synthetic derivative of nimocetin.
Moxidectin is a semi-synthetic single-component macrolide antibiotic produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces, a derivative of nimocetin. Macrolide antiparasitics consist of two major groups, namely avermectins and milbemycins.
Moxicodin began to be used as a veterinary dewormer. As a new generation anthelmintic, moxidectin is highly effective in killing nematodes and surface parasites, while having a good safety profile for animals.
Moxidectin is a parasiticide used for the prevention and control of filarial and intestinal worms. It can treat animals such as dogs, cats, horses, cattle and sheep for internal parasites.
Dogs: Prevention of filarial worms.
Horses: Treatment of parasites including common round nematodes and stomach robots such as gastrointestinal small intestine.
Cattle: Treatment of parasites such as gastrointestinal tract nematodes oyster and lungworm ic worms placenta.
Sheep: Treatment of nematodes such as round cypress and twisted blood spear nematodes.
Also note that nematodes can develop cross-resistance between moxidectin and other similar parasiticides such as ivermectin, doramectin and avermectin.
