Antioxidants and mucopolysaccharide agents. It has been reported to prevent neuronal apoptosis, but induce apoptosis of smooth muscle cells and prevent HIV replication. May be a substrate for microsomal glutathione transferase.
Used as a phlegm-dissolving drug. It is suitable for respiratory obstruction caused by a large amount of sticky phlegm obstruction. Because this product has a special odor, taking it can easily cause nausea and vomiting. It has a stimulating effect on the respiratory tract and can cause bronchospasm. It is generally used in combination with bronchodilators such as isoproterenol, and at the same time with a sputum suction device.
