The Application & Function
Ethambutol has strong inhibitory effect on tuberculosis bacillus and other mycobacteria. About 80% is absorbed orally, the blood concentration reaches the peak time of 2 to 4 hours, the protein binding is about 40%, and only about 10% of the drug is metabolized into inactive substances in the body.
