The Application & Function
This product can inhibit the dihydrofolate reductase of Plasmodium parasites, thus interfering with the normal folate translation of plasmodium parasites. It is effective against falciparum malaria and Plasmodium vivax in the early erythrocyte stage, and is commonly used as a etiological preventive drug. In addition, it can also inhibit the development of malaria parasites in mosquitoes, so it can block transmission.
