The Application & Function
1. Josamycin can be used to treat pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by streptococcus pyogenes.

Josamycin is a single component of 14C macrolide antibiotics, and its pharmacological characteristics and clinical application are similar to madecycin and spiramycin. It mainly binds to the bacterial 50S ribosome subunit and inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins by blocking the peptide transfer and mRNA shift, thus playing an antibacterial role. The antibacterial properties were similar to erythromycin. It has antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridium, diphtheria, Anthrax, Neisseria, Legionella, Brucella, Campylobacter, mycoplasma, chlamydia and Rickettsiella. Doxamycin has good antibacterial effect on meningococcus, pertussis bacillus, peptococcus, peptostreptococcus, propionibacterium, eubacterium and so on.
