The details of Black Pepper Extract Piperine
Piperine is a broad-spectrum anticonvulsant with chemical formula C17H19NO3. Colorless monoclinic prism crystal, odorless, with a burning sensation after tasting. Neutral to litmus reagent. Easily soluble in chloroform, ethanol, soluble in benzene and acetic acid, almost insoluble in water and Petroleum [1]. It can be extracted from the dried near mature or mature fruit of pepper (Piper nigrum L.), a plant of the Piperaceae family. It has a good antagonistic effect on experimental electroconvulsive seizures in mice, and has varying degrees of antagonistic effects on seizures and audiogenic seizures caused by pentylenetetrazol, tetrandrine, strychnine, as well as intraventricular injection of curcumine, glutamate, etc. It also has therapeutic effects on certain types of epilepsy. Piperine is more toxic to flies than Tanacetum cinerariifolium.
