NETILMICIN is a derivative of the aminoglycoside antibiotic fusamycin. The antibacterial spectrum was similar to gentamicin, tobramycin, fusamycin and amikacin, but it was more effective against Staphylococcus aureus and intestinal bacteria, and less effective against pseudomonas aeruginosa and Provisdensis. Its biggest advantage is that its toxicity to auditory nerve and kidney is less than that of aminoglycoside antibiotics commonly used in clinic, and it is highly effective against gentamicin-resistant intestinal bacteria and pseudomonas aeruginosa.
