The Application & Function of Ampicillin Powder
Ampicillin is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum penicillin. Its antibacterial mechanism is to prevent bacterial cell wall synthesis, so it can not only inhibit its proliferation, but also directly kill bacteria. The effect on gram-positive bacteria is similar to that of penicillin, and the effect on Streptococcus viridis and Enterococcus is better, while the effect on other bacteria is worse, and it is not effective for penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Among gram-negative bacteria, gonococcus, meningococcus, influenza bacillus, pertussis bacillus, Escherichia coli, typhoid and paratyphoid bacilli, dysentery bacilli, proteus mirabilis, brucella, etc. are sensitive to this product, but prone to drug resistance. Pneumonia, indole-positive Proteus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are not sensitive to this product.
