The Introduction of Cefaclor
Cefaclor, whose chemical name is (6R, 7R) - 7 - [(R) - 2-amino-2-phenylacetamide] - 3-chloro-8-oxy-5-thia-1-azabicyclic [4.2.0] oct-2-en-2-carboxylic acid, whose chemical formula is C15H14ClN3O4S, is white to yellowish powder or crystalline powder, slightly odorous, slightly soluble in water, and almost insoluble in methanol, ethanol, trichloromethane or dichloromethane. Cefaclor is β- Lactam antibiotics, cephalosporins, which are the second-generation cephalosporins, are mainly applicable to acute pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis, otitis media, bronchitis, pneumonia and other respiratory infections, skin and soft tissue infections and urinary tract infections caused by sensitive bacteria.
The Application & Function of Cefaclor
Cefaclor is the second generation of oral cephalosporins. Its antibacterial mechanism is similar to that of other cephalosporins. It plays a bactericidal role mainly by combining with penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) in bacterial cells and inhibiting the biosynthesis of bacterial cell walls. Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis (including penicillinase-producing and non-methicillin-resistant strains), Streptococcus pneumoniae, Diphtheria, Klebsiella, Clostridium, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Pneumococcus, Salmonella typhimurium, Shigella, meningococcus, etc. are sensitive to cefaclor. Indole-positive Proteus, Serratia, Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are resistant to cefaclor.
