The Introductction of Amikacin Powder
Amikacin, an organic compound with chemical formula of C22H43N5O13, is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, which is white or almost white powder or crystalline powder, almost odorless and tasteless. Its mechanism is to act on ribosomes in bacteria, inhibit bacterial protein synthesis, and destroy the integrity of bacterial cell wall, resulting in bacterial cell membrane damage and cell death. It is applicable to infections caused by gram-negative bacilli and penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. For intramuscular or intravenous infusion, the half-life of intravenous infusion is about 2h, and it can be as long as 30h without urine, and it rarely combines with protein. It mainly causes cochlear nerve damage, and the ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity are similar to gentamicin. Amikacin plays an antibacterial role by blocking bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial 30S subunit.
