The Introductction of Azvudine
Azvudine, an HIV reverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitor, is the world's most advanced and China's first new-generation HIV treatment drug.
Azvudine is also a broad-spectrum RNA virus inhibitor that specifically acts on SARS-CoV-2 polymerase (RdRp), embedding viral RNA in the RNA synthesis process of SARS-CoV-2, thereby inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 replication and achieving the therapeutic effect of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
The principle of Azivudine is to achieve antiviral effect by inhibiting the replication of RNA viruses such as HIV, HCV, EV71 and HBV. Whereas neo-coronavirus is a typical RNA virus, Azivudine has a similar mechanism of action against HIV and neo-coronavirus.
