Flavoxate hydrochloride (FX) is a white or off-white crystalline powder substance, odorless, bitter in taste, soluble in chloroform, slightly soluble in water or methanol, almost insoluble in acetone or ether, soluble in glacial acetic acid.

Flavoxate hydrochloride has the effect of inhibiting adenylate cyclase, phosphodiesterase and calcium ion antagonism, and has a weak antimuscarinic effect.
