Amoxicillin is one of the most commonly used semi-synthetic penicillin-like broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotics. It is a white powder with a half-life of about 61.3 minutes. Stable under acidic conditions, gastrointestinal absorption rate up to 90%. Amoxicillin has a strong bactericidal effect and a strong ability to penetrate cell membranes. It is one of the oral semi-synthetic penicillins widely used at present. Its preparations include capsules, tablets, granules, dispersed tablets, etc. Now it is often combined with clavulanic acid to make dispersed tablets.
Function:
Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic broad spectrum penicillin drug, and its antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial activity are basically the same as ampicillin, but its acid resistance is stronger than ampicillin, its bactericidal effect is stronger and faster than the latter, but it can not be used in the treatment of meningitis. The half-life is about 61.3 minutes. Amoxicillin has a strong bactericidal effect and a strong ability to penetrate cell walls. After oral administration, the lactam group in the drug molecules immediately hydrolyzed to form peptide bonds, which quickly combined with the transpeptidase in the bacteria to inactivate them, and cut off the only way for the bacteria to rely on the transpeptidase to synthesize glycopeptides for the construction of cell walls. As a result, the bacterial cells quickly became bulbar and burst and dissolved, and the bacteria eventually burst and died due to the loss of cell walls and continuous water penetration. It has strong bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect on most pathogenic G+ bacteria and G- bacteria (including cocci and Bacillus).
