Ceftazidime is a third generation cephalosporin that can be administered intravenously or intramuscular. Ceftazidime has a wide range of in vitro activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic bacteria. Ceftazidime is particularly effective against Enterobacteriaceae, including beta-lactamase-positive strains, and has anti-hydrolysis effects against most beta-lactamases.
Function:
Ceftazidime is clinically used for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria:
