The Introductction of Phenylephrine Hydrochloride
Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a white or off-white crystalline powder. Melting point 140-145℃. Soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in chloroform and ether. The melting point of levorotatory free base is 169-172℃.
Dosage of Phenylephrine Hydrochloride.
1. Common dosage for adults.
(1) vasoconstriction, local anesthetic solution can add 1mg of this product in every 20ml to reach 1:20000 concentration; subarachnoid block, every 2-3ml to reach 1:1000 concentration.
(2) Elevated blood pressure, mild or moderate hypotension, intramuscular injection of 2-5mg, re-administration interval not shorter than 10-15 minutes, intravenous injection of 0.2mg once, as needed every 10-15 minutes.
(3) Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, the initial amount of intravenous injection of 0.5mg, injected within 20-30 seconds, later the dosage increases, each time the amount of additional drug does not exceed 0.1-0.2mg, once the amount of 1mg is limited.
(4) Severe hypotension and shock (including drug-related hypotension) can be administered intravenously, 5% glucose injection or 0.9% sodium chloride injection with 10mg of this product per 500ml (1:50000 concentration), the initial drip rate is 100-180 drops per minute, after the blood pressure stabilization decreases to 40-60 drops per minute, if necessary, the concentration can be doubled, the drip rate is adjusted according to the blood pressure. If necessary, the concentration can be doubled, and the rate of drip is adjusted according to the blood pressure.
(5) To prevent hypotension during subarachnoid block, 2-3 mg of this product can be injected intramuscularly 3-4 minutes before the block.
The Application & Function of Phenylephrine Hydrochloride
Phenylephrine hydrochloride is an epinephrine-like drug. Has a constricting effect on local body blood vessels.
Phenylephrine hydrochloride is used for prolonging local anesthesia for surgical procedures and for decongesting and decongesting nasal mucous membrane congestion.
Phenylephrine hydrochloride is used for prolonging local time in surgery, decongesting nasal mucous membrane congestion, pupil dilation in ophthalmology, and boosting acute hypotension, and cold medicine.
