The Introductction of Meloxicam

 

Meloxicam, chemically known as 4-hydroxy-2-methyl-N-(5-methyl-2-thiazolyl)-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-3-carboxamide 1,1-dioxide, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It is a yellowish to light yellow or yellowish green to light yellowish green crystalline powder; odorless; soluble in dimethylformamide, slightly soluble in aceton*, very slightly soluble in methanol or ethanol, almost insoluble in water.


Meloxicam is a non-steroidal antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug, not a hormonal drug, with strong anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, can selectively inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thus blocking the synthesis of prostaglandins, the inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis at the site of inflammation is stronger than the prostaglandin biosynthesis in the gastric mucosa or kidney, and is safer than other NSAIDs. It is safer than other NSAIDs.


Meloxicam is mainly used to relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis, painful osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and arthritic spondylitis.

Meloxicam is mainly used for rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, soft tissue injury pain, etc.
1. Analgesic effect
Like other NSAIDs, meloxicam is mainly used for mild to moderate chronic dull pain, such as neuralgia, arthralgia, etc.
2. Antipyretic effect

3. Anti-inflammatory effect
Meloxicam showed strong anti-inflammatory activity in animal inflammation models (mainly including rat hind paw edema model induced by carrageenan gum and white clay, rat granuloma model induced by cotton dough, pleurisy induced by carrageenan gum and arthritis induced by Mycobacterium tuberculosis with liquid paraffin as adjuvant).
