Doxazosin mesylate is a new generation quinazolone alpha1 receptor blocker with a long half-life. It achieves vasodilatation, reduces vascular resistance and lowers blood pressure by blocking a1 receptors, selectively blocks a1 adrenergic receptors in the prostate smooth muscle matrix, peritoneum and bladder neck, improving symptoms in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, and also has a good effect on urinary difficulties caused by simple prostatic hyperplasia.
