The Introductction of Colistin sulfate
Colistin Sulfate is white or almost white powder, odorless, bitter with moisture-attracting property, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, almost insoluble in aceton*, ethe*, etc. The free base is slightly soluble in water. It is stable in the range of PH3-7.5.
Colistin Sulfate is produced by Bacillus polymyxa and has a strong antibacterial effect on Gram-negative bacteria and is used to treat intestinal diseases caused by Gram-negative bacteria. It is better in combination with sulfadiazine effect.
Colistin Sulfate is a narrow-spectrum antibiotic.
