             Doxycycline, chemical formula: C22H24N2O8, chemical name: 6-methyl-4 - (dimethylamino) - 3,5,10,12,12a-pentahydroxy-1,11-dioxo-1,4,4a, 5,5a, 6,11,12a - octahydro-2-oxotetrabenzamide, yellow crystal at room temperature, belongs to tetracyclic antibiotic clinically, with good clinical effect.

              Doxycycline Doxycycline is Oxytetracycline 6 α- It is a semi synthetic tetracycline antibiotic obtained by deoxidation on the site, and the preparation is hydrochloride. Its mechanism is the same as tetracycline, mainly interfering with the protein synthesis of sensitive bacteria. It can specifically bind to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome at position A, thereby inhibiting the binding of aminoacyl tRNA at this position and preventing the extension of peptide chain; Doxycycline can also change the permeability of bacterial cell membrane, making nucleotides and other important components in cells leak out, thus inhibiting the replication of bacterial DNA. Doxycycline has strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Meningococci, Escherichia coli, Aerobacter, Shigella, Yersinia, Listeria monocytogenes, etc. It also has certain effects on Rickettsia, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, actinomycetes, etc. The antibacterial spectrum is basically the same as that of tetracycline and oxytetracycline. The antibacterial activity in vivo and in vitro was stronger than that of tetracycline. Microbes have close cross resistance to doxycycline, tetracycline and oxytetracycline.
