Florfenicol is a monofluoro derivative of synthetic thiamphenicol. Its molecular formula is C12H14Cl2FNO4S. It is a white or grayish white crystalline powder, odorless, extremely slightly soluble in water and chloroform, slightly soluble in glacial acetic acid, and soluble in methanol and ethanol.
