The Introductction of Fenbendazole
Fenbendazole is an organic compound with the molecular formula C15H13N3O2S, which is a white or off-white powder, odorless and tasteless. It is soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in water and dissolved in glacial acetic acid.
Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic, effective against gastrointestinal parasites.
Fenbendazole has a strong structural affinity for the microtubule proteins of the worm, and by affecting cellular transport and energy metabolism, it serves to prevent the polymerization of microtubules, ultimately leading to disruption of worm cell integrity and energy transport functions. It has high anthelmintic activity not only against roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, some cestodes and roundworms, but also against some bronchial tree and lung parasites (catarrhal lungworms and pulmonary schistosomes).
Fenbendazole is a benzimidazole anthelmintic with a broad spectrum, high efficiency and low toxicity ,in the structure,it has a strong affinity with the parasite tubulin ,by influencing cell transport and energy metabolism,it plays a role in preventing the polymerization of micro tubes, which ultimately destroys the integrity of parasite cells and energy transmission.
Fenbendazole is used to drive and to kill the animal gastrointestinal parasites, it not only has a highly anthelmintic activity on animal gastrointestinal roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, some tapeworms and nematodes , but also has a preferred effect on the part of the bronchial tree and lung parasites (Aelurostrongylus abstrutus and lung fluke) .
Usage and dosage:
-Poultry
It is effective against gastrointestinal and respiratory nematodes in poultry. At 8mg/kg daily dose for 6 days, it is highly effective against chicken roundworms, capillary nematodes and tapeworms. It is effective against turkey roundworm at a dose of 350mg/kg, but if fed at 45mg/kg for 6 days, it will eliminate all the turkey roundworm, heterocyst nematodes and closed capillary nematodes. The best deworming regimen for pheasants, partridges, grouse, geese and ducks is 60mg/kg of feed for 6 days. For domestic pigeons naturally infected with closed capillary nematodes and pigeon roundworms, 100mg/kg mixed feed for 3-4 days, the efficiency is nearly 100%.
【Usage and dosage】 10-50mg per kg body weight of pigeon for one time internal use.
【Rest period】14 days for cattle and sheep, 3 days for pigs, 5 days for milk abandonment.
The Application & Function of Fenbendazole
Fenbendazole is a new broad-spectrum veterinary anthelmintic. It is suitable for removing adult and larvae of gastrointestinal nematodes in cattle, horses, pigs and sheep, with the advantages of broad anthelmintic spectrum, low toxicity, good tolerance, good palatability and wide safety range.
Fenbendazole anthelmintic. Broad-spectrum, high-efficiency, low-toxicity, anti-parasitic drug. It has a strong anthelmintic effect on parasites such as roundworms, nematodes, cestodes, cysts and liver fluke, and not only kills worms, but also has a great effect on migrating larvae which are harmful to liver, lung and intestine.
Fenbendazole is a benzimidazole anthelmintic, which not only has high anthelmintic activity against adult nematodes and larvae of gastrointestinal tract, but also has good effect on reticulonematodes, lamellipodia and cestodes, and has strong ovicidal effect.
For Sheep:
It is efficient for treating imageo and larva of haemonchosis, ostertagia, trichostrongyle, cooperia, nematodirus, trichuris and dictyocaulus. It has good effec in treating moniezia expansa and M.benedeni. It needs large dose for trematode.
For Cattle:
The expelling spectra of cattle is almost similar to that of sheep, need large dose for trematode. It has good effect in treating imago of fasciola hepatica and schistosomula of bovine paramphistomum.
For Horse:
It has good effect in treating parascaris equorum, imago and larva of oxyuris equi, Pprobstmayria vivipara, strongylus vulgaris.
For Pig:
It has good expelling parasite effect in treating imago and larva of ascaris suum, hyostrongylus rubidus, and oesophagostomum.
For Dog & Cat:
It has obvious effect in treating ancylostoma caninum, trichuris, and roundworm of dog. Also is effect in treating roundworm, hookworm and tapeworm of cat.
For Wildlife:
Deer and other birds of prey.
