Description of Chitosan / Chitosan Oligosaccharide

Conventional chitosan is white or off-white, slightly pearly, translucent amorphous solid, decomposes at about 185 ℃, insoluble in water and dilute alkali solution, soluble in dilute organic acid and some inorganic acid (hydrochloric acid), but insoluble In dilute sulfuric acid, dilute nitric acid, dilute phosphoric acid, oxalic acid, etc. The most common method is to dissolve chitosan with glacial acetic acid.

Because of its biodegradability, low toxicity and good biocompatibility, chitosan is widely used in biomedicine and preparations. Studies have found that chitosan has properties such as anti-acid, anti-ulcer, and promoting wound healing.
