The Introductction of Gatifloxacin :
Gatifloxacin is an 8-methoxyfluoroquinolone racemic compound with a chemical formula of C19H22FN3O4. It has a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-negative and positive microorganisms in vitro, and its R- and S-enantiomers have the same antibacterial activity . Gatifloxacin is a fourth-generation novel broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum, high-efficiency, low toxicity, and no cross-resistance.
The Application & Function of Gatifloxacin :
The antibacterial effect of gatifloxacin is by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby inhibiting bacterial DNA replication, transcription and repair processes. This product is mainly used for various infectious diseases caused by sensitive pathogens, including acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia, simple urinary tract infection (cystitis) and complex urinary tract infection, acute Pyelonephritis, gonococcal urinary tract inflammation or rectal infection in men and gonococcal cervical infection in women.
Clinically, gatifloxacin is mainly used for pulmonary infection, urinary tract infection and other infections caused by sensitive bacteria, and the effect is very good. During treatment with this medicine, it is recommended to avoid exposure to the sun, as some people may experience a photosensitivity reaction. Because gatifloxacin has a certain effect on blood sugar, it is not recommended for diabetic patients to use gatifloxacin for anti-infective therapy. If you do need to use this medicine, you must strengthen blood sugar monitoring during the treatment.
