The Introductction of Simvastatin:
Simvastatin, derived from aspergillus terrae, was introduced for medical use in 1992. The drug is listed in the Essential Medicine List of the World Health Organization and is one of the essential medicines in the basic medical system. As an oral hypolipidemic medication, it is taken during exercise, diet, and weight loss to avoid elevated blood lipids. Simvastatin also reduced the chances of a heart attack in people at high risk of heart disease.
The Application & Function of Simvastatin:
It has the effect of lowering cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and very LDL cholesterol.
Application:
This product is hydroxymethyl glutaryl-coa (HMG-COA) reductase inhibitor, inhibits the synthesis of endogenous cholesterol, for lipid regulator. Literature shows that it can reduce the content of total cholesterol (TC) in serum, liver and aorta of hyperlipidemia rabbits, and reduce the level of very low density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).
Simvastatin is highly selective to the liver after oral administration, and its concentration in the liver is significantly higher than that of other non-target tissues. Most of simvastatin is absorbed through the liver, and its main effect is played in the liver, and then excreted from bile. Only less than 5% of the oral dose of simvastatin active structures were found in the periphery, 95% of which could bind to plasma proteins.
