The Introductction of Pregabalin :
Pregabalin is a novel gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor agonist, which can block voltage-dependent calcium channels and reduce the release of neurotransmitters. It is mainly used in the treatment of peripheral neuralgia and adjuvant treatment of localized partial epilepsy attack.
The Application & Function of Pregabalin :
Pregabalin is a commonly used drug in neurology with antiepileptic, sedative and anxiolytic effects. The mechanism of antiepileptic action of pregabalin is currently unclear. In animal experimental studies, pregabalin has anticonvulsant effects on various types of epilepsy animal models, and its activity in animal models is several times stronger than that of gabapentin. Clinically, pregabalin is generally used for the following diseases. One is to improve neuralgia, including peripheral neuralgia caused by diabetic peripheral neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, sciatica, trigeminal neuralgia, postoperative toothache, arthritis, etc. The second is anti-epilepsy, which is used for the adjuvant treatment of partial seizures of epilepsy. The third is anti-anxiety, which is used for the adjuvant treatment of anxiety disorders and social phobia.
