The Introductction of Cefepime:
The Application & Function of Cefepime :
Cefepime is mainly used for maintenance of infections such as Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter Chemicalbook and Pseudomonas aeruginosa caused by respiratory tract infections. Clinical application Cefepime is mainly used to treat moderate and severe infections caused by sensitive bacteria in adults and children over 2 months of age. Including pneumonia, complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, complicated intra-abdominal infections, and empirical treatment of neutropenia with fever, etc.
The product also has a good effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but the effect is slightly worse than that of ceftazidime and imipenem; Acinetobacter, Listeria, etc. are only moderately sensitive to this product. The mechanism of action is similar to that of other beta-lactams. Compared with the third-generation cephalosporins, this product has a stronger effect on Staphylococcus and Enterobacter (especially Enterobacter aerogenes and Enterobacter cloacae). Cefepime is stable to a variety of plasmid-mediated and chromosome-mediated β-lactamases, including chromosome-mediated type I enzymes; this product rarely induces bacterial production of β-lactamases.
