The Introductction of Penicillin G potassium:
Benzylpenicillin potassium (Penicillin G potassium) is the potassium salt form of penicillin G, which is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic.
Penicillin potassium is also known as bianpenicillin and bianpenicillin G potassium salt. This product is a white crystalline powder, odorless or slightly odorless, and hygroscopic. Easily soluble in water, physiological saline, and glucose solution. The aqueous solution is prone to failure when placed at room temperature, and quickly fails when exposed to acids, alkalis, and oxidants.
Penicillin has a good antibacterial effect on Streptococcus such as hemolytic streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus that does not produce penicillinase. It has a moderate antibacterial effect on enterococci. Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Corynebacterium diphtheria, Actinomyces bovis, Streptobacter candida, Listeria, Leptospira and Treponema pallidum are sensitive to this product. This Chemicalbook product also has certain antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae and Bordetella pertussis, and other gram-negative aerobic or facultative anaerobes have poor sensitivity to this product. This product has a good antibacterial effect on Clostridium, Peptostreptococcus anaerobic bacteria and Bacteroides melanogaster, but has poor antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragilis. Penicillin plays a bactericidal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls.
The Application & Function of Penicillin G potassium:
Mainly used in infections caused by sensitive bacteria or pathogens.
1. For pharyngitis, scarlet fever, cellulitis, suppurative arthritis, pneumonia, puerperal fever and septicemia caused by group a beta-hemolytic streptococcus, penicillin G has a good effect and is the preferred drug.
2. Used to treat other streptococcal infections.
3. Used to treat meningitis caused by meningococcal or other sensitive bacteria.
4. Used to treat gonorrhea caused by gonococci.
5. Used to treat syphilis caused by treponema pallidum.
6. Used to treat the infection caused by gram-positive bacteria.
